Malaga Sign Cardiff Striker On Loan

Spanish striker, Javi Guerra has joined La Liga club Malaga on loan from English Championship side Cardiff City until the end of the season.

Guerra, 32, signed a three-year contract with Cardiff from Real Valladolid in the summer of 2014, but has failed to impact at the 11th-placed English second-tier club.

A statement from Malaga FC read: “Malaga and Cardiff City FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of Javi Guerra, with no buy-out option included. The striker has joined the team in training this morning and will be a member of Malaga FC until the end of the season.”

“I’m really enthusiastic,” Guerra told the Spanish press. “I can’t wait to get started.”

Seventh-placed Malaga will be at Sevilla on Sunday. Guerra becomes the Spanish club’s second signing in the winter transfer window following the arrival of Belarus defender Egor Filipenko from BATE Borisov.
