Olympic Team Jets Out For Libreville On Wednesday

Nigeria Under-23 national team will on Wednesday fly out to Libreville for Saturday’s All-Africa Games qualifying match against Gabon.

A 35-man delegation, including 19 players, led by Executive Committee (ExCo) member Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Barrister Chris Green, will depart the Murtala Mohammed International Airport aboard an Ethiopian Airline flight on Wednesday.

They will be due for touchdown in Libreville by noon Thursday, in time for the 3:30pm Gabon time (2:30pm Nigeria time) kickoff on Saturday, 21 February.

The NFF has already provided all details concerning the journey to the Embassy of Nigeria in Libreville, with Mission Staff to receive the delegation on arrival on Thursday, and to mobilise the Nigerian community in Libreville to support the Dream Team VI during the match.

The game is billed for the natural turf of the Stade Augustin Monedan at Sibang in Libreville.

The return leg comes up in Nigeria on 7 March. The winner of the tie will face the winner of the game between Zambia and Madagascar for a place in the Men’s Football Tournament of the 11th All-Africa Games, scheduled for Brazzaville, Congo.

The 2015 All-Africa Games begin 11 July through 21 July.
