Ivan Rakitic, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi got among the goals as Barcelona claim a 3-1 win at Granada to continue chasing La Liga leaders, Real Madrid.
Fresh from inspiring a Uefa Champions League round of 16 win at Manchester City, Suarez came up with his best performance in Barca colours till date, scoring one and setting up Lionel Messi for Barca’s second.
The Uruguay international also played a part in the Catalans’ opener when he shot was deflected to Rakitic’s feet and the Croatian midfielder smashed home in the 25th minute- his first on the road.
The midfielder then beat Granada goalkeeper Oier Olazabal with a powerful shot following a one-two combination with Rakitic in the 49th minute.
Fran Rico converted from the penalty spot to halve the hosts’ arrears, but Messi tapped into an empty net following a fine move, which began with Rakitic squaring a through-ball to Suarez who provided an for the Argentine.
The win helped Barcelona close in to within one point of Madrid before the leaders host Villarreal Sunday.
