This year’s Copa del Rey final between Athletic Bilbao and Barcelona will be staged at the Camp Nou for a fourth time, the Spanish football federation (RFEF) have announced.
This is after Real Madrid refused to host the match and as neither side could agree a location, a vote was held at an RFEF meeting.
The Spanish domestic cup final usually takes place at a neutral venue often agreed upon by the clubs.
Barca’s Camp Nou Stadium will be hosting the final for a fourth time after 1963, 1970 and 2010. It is the first time since 2002 that the final is played in the home of a competing side, when Deportivo won at Real Madrid.
The Camp Nou hosted its third final in 2010 in a showdown between winners Sevilla and Atletico Madrid.
The final comes up on 30 May and each club (Athletic and Barca) wll be allocated 39,000 tickets with 20,000 going to the RFEF.
