Belgian Club Refuse to Release Dream Team’s Saviour for All-Africa Games

Nigeria will be without the services of Godwin Saviour at next month’s All-Africa Games (AAG) after his Belgian club KV Oestende turned down the country’s request for the player.

The 19-year-old striker, who recently penned a three-year deal with KV Oestende, told AfricanFootball.com that he would not be available for the AAG.

“I would have loved to feature at the All-Africa Games for my country, but my club have stopped me,” he is quoted as saying by AfricanFootball.com.

Another Under-23 player, Shehu Abdullahi, will also not be available for the competition as his Portuguese club have also dismissed the country’s request.

Only Turkey-based Azubuike Okexhukwu and Umar Aminu look likely to join the squad of home-based professionals for the AAG.
