Presidency Commends BBC On #EndSARS Report
Garba Shehu

In a surprising move, the federal government has praised the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) for its fairness in reporting on the #EndSARS protests.

This was contained in a message posted on the Twitter account of the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu.

This commendation is coming a day after President Muhammadu Buhari described the reports by the BBC and CNN about the #EndSars protests as unfair and disgusting.

The Presidential aide on Friday expressed that the Presidential Media Committee had discussed with the BBC and confirmed that the BBC had treated all parties fairly.

He wrote:

“Following concerns expressed about reporting of #endsars in Nigeria, the presidential Media team met with the BBC team to discuss the matter. We acknowledge that the BBC has reported extensively on all sides of this story. We are pleased that the BBC has heard our concerns.”
