Seven persons have been arrested and arraigned before a court by the police for allegedly stealing a goat belonging to Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State at the Government House in Osogbo, the state capital.
The police prosecutor, Isiaka Ajadi, told the court that the accused were arraigned on two count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The accused persons, Alhaji Muhammed Moruf, Ayeni Abiodun, Agboola Fatai, Fayinka Gbenga, Olowoniyi Jeromu, Olorunfunmi Adeyemi and Babatunde Michael, pleaded not guilty to the charges when it was read to them.
Counsel to the accused Barrister Nnnena Ngwu sought bail for them and Magistrate Habibat Basiru granted the request and adjourned the case to June 5 for hearing.

Stealing is evil and must be condemned in great terms. However, i have a little reservation to the case in focus. Why must it be that when a poor is involved in a theft of whatever magnitude from the rich, the case is handled with uppermost seriousness but if its the case of the rich vs government, it is curtailed? this is great injustice and corruption. It must not just be condemned in great terms as we always hear and after which nothing else is done, but must be CONDEMNED AND ACTED UPON. NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW!
Wetin Goat they do for Goverment house in the first place, abi na so the Governor like Goat meat, stealing is wrong we know,but such news should not have come out from a Goverment house, it shows the level of poverty in Osun ,its an embarrassment to the common man in Osun state, what about the rich that steal millions everyday.the Governor should use his office to free those men and possibly provide them with sustainance.
