2015: We’ll Fight Anyone Who Attempts To Sell North Out – Ango Abdullahi

Ango AbdullahiThe spokesman of Northern Elders Forum and former Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Professor Ango Abdullahi, on Sunday said elders in the north have resolved to confront any person that attempts to deprive the region of its political and economic rights.

Abdullahi made this known while speaking at the 2nd annual general meeting of the Zazzau Emirate Development Association (ZEMDA).

He noted that the security challenges facing the North were caused by injustice, greed of politicians and uneven sharing of the nation’s resources.

“Statistics showed that in every five graduates, it is only one that would be employed in three years. Then you can calculate and see the danger. This is university only, not to talk of other tertiary institutions.

“Therefore, the major work in getting the solution to our problem lies with the government. I was reading the budgets that states began releasing. Bauchi people were celebrating that the state has proposed a budget of N139 billion but in the same day, I saw that Delta state alone has proposed a budget of N399 billion; three times the budget of Bauchi state. And Bauchi state is twice in population than Delta, and Bauchi territory is as big as South East states combined. How do you expect peace based on an uneven development in the country? It is not possible”, he said.

He added; “our present condition in this country is not ideal at all, and I am among those that caused it because ten of us formed this party called PDP. We have planned many ways on how this country would have peace, and among those things was this rotational presidency for everyone to have a sense of belonging.

“The greediest people that helped the collapse of that arrangement were northerners, and they are still there trying to cheat us again.

“These northerners are still alive but by Allah’s grace we are going to face them. These people are selling us for political appointment and Naira. White man has fought us with guns, and now they are trying to colonise us with Naira from the South. This would not be possible. We all want peaceful coexistence, but nobody can attain peace at my expense. We would not agree with that. Peace must be at the expense of everyone who is a stakeholder but not a one sided peace”, he maintained.

  1. I am disappointed you are not reasoning and talking like a professor who have the peace of our beloved Nation (Nigeria )at heart. From what i understand,is either the north reclaim 2015 presidency or there will continue to be Boko Haram to continually create chaos and havoc thereby inflicting pains and making any Government order than the north ungovernable. The world is changing, thoughts are changing, scientist and professionals innovates new ideas on how to make the world Governable to both the present and generation next, irrespective of the Country,Ethnicity or Religion. As a professor ,i expect you to strongly believe that constitution is adjustable no matter how strong. A Fellow Professor and a serving lecturer was apprehended recently for recruiting and training of young men into Boko Haram Camp. Muslim Brotherhood made up of Professors and Highly placed individuals Had been investigated and confirm to be terrorist group in Egypt. Thank God they have been Band from existing. I expect the same to be done here in Nigeria. There are certain Highly placed individuals and professors who are the major sponsors of Boko Haram. By the the Grace of God , you all will be Fished out soon. The World is now for the youth.

  2. Emmanuel you really should endeavour to read between the lines and apply your senses . Muslim brotherhood is a victim of a military coup in Egypt, they are the first democratically elected govt in that country. Just because coup plotters branded them terrorist does not mean that clear thinking people should by that crap.. in the case of Nigeria the greatest beneficiary of terrorism are those who want to hold on to power by demonizing and weakening the north, it is interesting that since the death of a certain southern individual church bombing has almost totally feasled out in the north.

  3. The question we should ask Ango is How much is internal revenue of Bauchi state? Is it enough to have land mass bigger than South East? Or does Ango think the entire Delta budget is dependent on oil? States should also generate revenue – Ango as a professor should profer ideas on how that can be achieved in the north Α̲̅πϑ stop threatening the rest of us with instability. But why can’t this guy be arrested for such utterances?
