Militancy: Service Chiefs, N/Delta Govs Meet With Osinbajo

Yemi OsinbajoTwenty four hours after he assumed the position of Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is currently holding a meeting with the service chiefs and some governors of the oil-producing states.
The meeting, which is taking place at the Vice President’s Wing of the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja, was convened to find a lasting solution to the growing threat of militancy in the Niger Delta.
The Niger Delta Avengers and other militant groups have continued to bomb oil and gas installations in the oil-rich region in their demand for self-rule.
The meeting is being attended by Governors Emmanuel Udom (Akwa Ibom), Seriake Dickson (Bayelsa), Olusegun Mimiko (Ondo), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Adams Oshiomhole (Edo) and Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta).
Also in attendance is the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu; and Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Usani Uguru.
