PDP Convention: Youth Group Accuses Wike Of Working Against Bode George

Olabode-GeorgeThe Yoruba Youth Alliance (YYA), a group representing youths of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the South-west, has warned Rivers State Governor, Barr. Nyesom Wike, against attempting to rig the election into national offices, especially the national chairmanship, during the forthcoming national convention.

The convention is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, August 17 in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital with Gov. Wike as Chairman of the Convention Committee.

The PDP in the Southern zone, met last over a week ago in Port Harcourt where it was agreed that the South-west should produce the national chairman of the party, after the position was zoned to the South.

Addressing a press conference yesterday in Lagos, President of the YYA, Otunba Kola Salau, accused Mr. Wike of working against the candidature of Chief Olabode George, a former deputy national chairman of the PDP, for the position of national chairman.

He, therefore, called on the PDP leadership to closely monitor the electoral process to ensure fairness and transparency.
