U.S Secretary Of State, John Kerry To Visit Nigeria August 23rd

On Tuesday the 23rd of August, Nigeria will play host to the United States Secretary of State, John Kerry to discuss security and counter-terrorism cooperation with president Muhammadu Buhari.

The Secretary first trip will take him to Sokoto on the 23rd where he will deliver a speech on the importance of resilient communities and religious tolerance in countering violent extremism.

On Wednesday the 24th of August, John Kerry will be in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory to meet with President Buhari to discuss counterterrorism efforts, the Nigerian economy, the fight against corruption, and human rights issues.

In Abuja, the Secretary will meet with a group of adolescent girls working to change community perceptions that devalue the role of girls in society.

He will also meet with northern governors and religious leaders.
