Inter Milan Sack Coach Mazzari

Inter Milan have relieved Walter Mazzari of his duties following a difficult start to the 2014/15 league season.

The ‘Nerazzurri’ are currently 12 points behind leaders Juventus after just four wins from their 11 games so far. The decision comes five days after they drew at home to Verona in the domestic campaign.

It however does not look so bleak for the San Siro outfit in the Europa League, where they currently top their group with an unbeaten record from four matches.

The Serie A club said in a statement: “The club would like to thank Mazzarri for the commitment, dedication and professionalism he showed over his 17 months in charge. Today’s training session will be conducted by Giuseppe Baresi.”

Early reports suggest Roberto Mancini could succeed the 53-year-old former Sampdoria and Napoli boss.

The former Manchester City boss won three championships and two Coppa Italia during his time at the Estadio Guiseppe Meazza from 2004 until 2008. The 49-year-old has been absent from managerial duties since he left Turkish giants Galatasaray in June.
