MakerFaire Africa Workshop 2012 – Entrepreneurship, Invention, Design, Technology & Science

MakerFaire Africa is a pan-African community of creative inventors, designers & fabricators who are looking to build Africa’s design + manufacturing through Making, creating opportunities for entrepreneurs and small businesses to seed themselves across the continent.

The full list of workshops holding can be found here. The Workshop Day is a series of back-to-back sessions on topics that focus on entrepreneurship, invention, design, technology & science, all with the intent on driving making and manufacturing within the continent.

This one here should be of particular interest to female geeks. AkiraChix founder, Linet Kwomboka, will lead this workshop on how to start a regular meet-up just for women, and eventually turn it into a permanent technology space. This workshop will give attendees a roadmap and the resources needed to start the process of creating meet-ups of their own, while also introducing everyone to each other and forming a network of GirlGeeks that can ignite the power of women in tech.

Interested members of the community may register to attend this workshop by clicking on the links provided in this mail.
