Bayern Munich Defying All Odds In Their Quest For The Treble

Bayern Munich are sailing on a high as they continue to march on towards their quest for a treble this season. They top the Bundesliga with 72 points after 27 games, 20 points ahead of their closest rival Borussia Dortmund. They have scored a total of 65 goals in the league and their new signing from Wolfsburg M. MandZukic has scored a total of 15 goals with seven assists making him Bayern’s highest goal scorer in the league.
One more match win in the league stands between them and the Bundesliga title as they look to overthrow their rivals Dortmund and reclaim their title. In the German cup, a spectacular Arjen Robben’s goal was the difference as Bayern Munich eliminated the defending champions Borussia Dortmund who won the title last season after humiliating Bayern 5-2 in the finals. The win set them up for a semi-final clash in the DFB Pokal competition.
Following their 2-0 victory over the old lady Juventus yesterday in the champions league, Bayern now have one leg in the semi-finals as they dominated the match from start to finish. Bastian Schweinstiger and Javi Martinez missed the clash at the Allianz arena due to suspension but will be recalled into the line up at Turin in the second leg.
Heyneckes will be hoping his men replicate their first leg form when they travel to Italy in eight days time and not relent like they did against Arsenal in the second leg of the round of 16.
With the Bundesliga almost sure for the Bavarians, and the German cup/ Champions league trophy still in sight, Bayern Munich will be looking to continue the momentum and win the treble thereby ending their season on a high.
