After admitting he’s had the worst season of his career, Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid exit is expected to be confirmed this week as his return to Stamford Bridge edges nearer.

Sources close to the club’s President Fiorentino Perez claimed there would be an amicable parting of ways between both parties, with neither the manager nor the club paying for the failure to see out the current contract which runs until 2016.

After Real’s defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Spanish Cup final at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, Mourinho, who was sent out of the dugout admitted this had been the worst season of his career. With two games left in the Spanish League the Portuguese may likely become less motivated for the matches, having confirmed a trophyless season on Friday and with the player- boss rift in the club’s dressing room not expected to fizzle out anytime soon.
