Job Description
Reporting to the Manager, Systems Integration Unit, this is a highly technical role, providing Architectural, Design and Implementation Consultancy support for our Partner Solutions such as Junipers Networks Solutions for Service Provider and Enterprise customers. The Systems Engineer will be required to develop and maintain expertise on SP and Enterprise Network Architectures and solutions, e.g. Triple-Play, NGN, and CDN.
Typical activities are around the following key areas;
Ø Leading or participating in workshops to identify and understand customer requirements
Ø Providing guidance on Network Architectures
Ø Developing and documenting High- and Low-Level Network Designs
Ø Design Validation and Verification testing
Ø Interoperability testing
Ø Network Implementation planning
Ø Trouble-shooting/fault finding
Ø Knowledge Transfer to in- and external customers
Ø Evaluate customer networks for performance, scalability, and security and provide recommendations to customers about improvements to network configurations and topologies to prevent problems before they occur.
Develop and maintain an in-depth technical knowledge of all Partners’ and Juniper Networks IPG (Infrastructure Products Group) product line, i.e. M/T, MX, E and J-series equipment as well as other solution areas such as Security Products Group (SRX, MAG, SA, Junos Pulse e.t.c.).
Desired Skills & Experience
Here’s what we are looking for in candidates for this job:
Ø Education to degree level preferred, with extensive experience in a technical role, Supporting large IP networks.
Ø Very strong knowledge ( ideally CCIE, JNCIP/JNCIE level) of the operation, design principles and troubleshooting of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, ISIS, MPLS, QoS/CoS, IPv6, Multicast, etc. is essential.
Ø Although training will be provided, a strong knowledge of JUNOS and Juniper MX/M/T-series products is desirable.
Ø Effective consultancy, planning & communication skills, excellent inter-personal skills, ability to work on multiple projects and manage customers appropriately.
Ø Must be fluent in English and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ø Work location for this role is in Nigeria. Over time this may extend to working consultancy projects throughout Middle-East and Africa.
