Twenty-five primary school teachers under the Kwara State Teaching Service who were not in their classes during an unscheduled visit by the Chairman, Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board, KWSUBEB, Barrister Lanre Daibu, to primary and junior secondary schools in Ifelodun and Ilorin East local government areas, are to be penalised for absenteeism.

The affected teachers have been directed to report to the Board headquarters for interrogation.

He warned that the state government would not condone laziness on the part of any teacher, warning that anyone found wanting would be appropriately dealt with.

Daibu who noted that Primary education is the foundation on which the future educational attainment of children squarely rests, urged all stakeholders in the sector to rally round the government in order to justify the huge investment in education.
