Job Title: Group Capital and Liquidity Manager Africa

Job Description

My client is the largest pan-African bank with over 18 000 employees across more than 30 African countries. The role of Group Capital and Liquidity will oversee Group activity and reports into the CFO. A French / English speaking professional would be ideal with a CFA and MBA Qualification.

Purpose

Perform management of capital, funding and liquidity.
Provide timely and relevant information to management for decision making.
Develop capital allocation framework.
Standardize the capital allocation process.

Responsibilities
Develop, evaluate, recommend and implement strategies to enhance capital and liquidity management.
Direct capital and liquidity management initiatives in collaboration with the planning ad forecast team.
Enhance economic capital framework, working closely with senior management, Group Risk, the business units and affiliates CFOs.
Develop a capital allocation framework.
Establish liquidity targets and determinate the optimal size of the liquidity pool.
Evaluate liquidity risks by creating and monitoring stress scenarios and maintaining contingency funding plan.
Provide leadership in the development of strategies that optimize balance sheet performance.
Collaborate with Group Risk and Treasury for the identification and resolution of matters related to capital and liquidity at the parent company level.
Establish targets and KPIs related to risk adjusted performance.
Effectively communicate complex issues and concepts to the internal customers.
Drive results through collaboration with the business unit leaders.
Participate and contribute to ALCO meetings.
Closely monitor changes in the regulatory capital requirement in the affiliates.
Develop a 3 year capital plan to be included in the parent company liquidity forecast.

Desired Skills & Experience

MS/MBA Degree in Finance/Accounting.
Chartered accountant or CFA chart holder or equivalent is preferred
6+ years of proven experience within the financial services industry.
Proficiency in MS Office is required.
Statistical and model building knowledge is preferred.
Understanding of capital calculation methodologies as well as supporting operating models and processes.
