Job description – Completions Superintendent
TASKS
- Set strategic and tactical plans required to meet well completion objectives.
- Responsible all well completion planning and optimization as required.
- Supervise and ensure detailed and robust completion programs are available for all well types.
- Supervise and ensure compliance of the completion planning/execution with the well delivery process.
- Ensure all slickline and other completion related jobs are executed trouble free.
- Interact with contractors to ensure provision of proper tools for use in completion of wells and initiate use of new tools to improve completion practice and efficiency.
- Ensure completion database is properly updated and useful for obtaining completion planning information.
- Supervise engineers in the team to provide measurement of completion performance and ensure benchmark is achieved or exceeded.
- Ensure completion reports are provided in a timely fashion and that they meet required standards.
- Establish completion KPI’s and monitor same.
- Keep NPT performance within set KPI.
- Provide detailed scope of work for completions and related services as needed for tendering or contracting purposes.
- Ensure completion contracts are valid for all jobs planned.
- Mentor drilling and completion engineers.
ACCOUNTABLE FOR:
- Ensure short, medium and long term plans exist for completion projects.
- Ensure well completion plans are feasible and meet HSE and technical standards.
- Ensure Completion Programs are robust and of a high standard.
- Ensure proper QA/QC is carried out on all completion equipment.
- Ensure contractor equipment and personnel are suitable for the job.
- Ensure completion installation is carried out to meet set KPI targets.
- Ensure completion database is up to date and useful.
- Ensure accurate completion performance data is provided for records.
- Ensure all required reports on well completion implementation are distributed to relevant persons daily.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS / PERFORMANCE GOALS:
- Clear plans for implementation of completion programs covering equipment, personnel contracts for the short, medium and long term.
- Compliance with Well Delivery Process.
- Detailed work over and completion programs signed and issued at least one month to commencement of programs.
- Ensure there is no equipment failure on the rig.
- Ensure completions personnel are competent to run operations.
- No completion, slickline or other related failures in operation.
- Lessons learnt meetings on all wells
- Keep NPT related to completion operations below 10%.
- Propose process change, tool or equipment utilisation to improve performance
Requirements Completions Superintendent
- BS degree in Engineering (minimum)
- Member, Society of Petroleum Engineers. Member IADC. Attended industry courses in well engineering, well operations management, project management.
- >15 YEARS
- Age: 40 +
- Good technical knowledge of well operations.
- Initiative to proffer solutions to technical problems.
- Sound knowledge of IADC/API guidelines for well operations.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant regulations applicable to testing and completion operations.
- Supervise subordinates, rig operations, service companies; make presentations and facilitate meetings.
- Good interpersonal skills, communications and organizational skills are essential.
