The Supreme Court earlier today validated the election of Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State.
The apex court dismissed the petition filed by the defeated candidate in the Rivers State governorship election, Sir Celestine Omehia, who contested for the Peoples Democratic Party’s ticket alongside Amaechi.
In his petition, Omehia had argued that there was no vacancy in the Rivers State Government House when Amaechi was elected.
