It was a tragic Thursday for the people of Sotunbo area, Ogun State, as a middle-aged woman was crushed to death while praying inside a church along Sagamu/Ikorodu road in Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun state.
The incident, which occurred at about 6.00 am was the second in three weeks in the same church, according to reports.
An eye-witness said the tipper with number plate XM 594 SMK was from the Sagamu end of the road, but had a blowout in one of its front tyres. The driver lost control and rammed into the church hitting the woman who knelt down praying, with her 4-month-old baby in her arms.
The woman was said to have died on the spot, but her baby and the Pastor who was praying for her survived.
Two persons have been arrested by the police in respect of the accident, Vanguard reports, adding that a similar accident occurred in front of the church about three weeks ago, involving an 18-seater bus. The driver died on that occasion.
