The NFF Will Not Influence Keshi’s Choice for Brazil- Report

The Nigeria Football federation has said it will not influence the inclusion of any player in the Super Eagles squad for the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil.

Top NFF official, Chris Green has told MTNfootball.com the Super Eagles head coach will defend his World Cup provisional list next week before the technical committee, headed by the aforementioned.

“Keshi will present his list in the first week of April before the technical committee in Abuja,” Green said.

“We therefore expect him to bring forward the best legs the country has, but we would not influence his selection, so whoever he chooses, he must defend before the committee next week.”

All 32 participating teams are expected to submit a 30-man provisional squad to Fifa on or before May 13 and Green says Keshi may be presenting a 35-man list.

“He may not be presenting a 30-man list as speculated, but a 35-man list,” he added. “And we expect him to defend the inclusion of every player in the list. Because the World Cup is not a tea party.

“We are monitoring our world cup opponents, we have got some tips about them, we have people monitoring them to get more information about them.”

Nigeria will play favourites Argentina, debutantes Bosnia and Herzegovina and Iran in the group stage of the world football tournament.
