Fayemi, who was accompanied to the rally by his wife, Bisi; former Governor Adeniyi Adebayo, Speaker of the House of Assembly, Dr. Wale Omirin; state APC Chairman, Chief Olajide Awe, said that his acceptance by the teachers showed that he had nothing against them.

He said, “If they don’t kill councillorship candidate in Ifaki, they will kill College of Education students in Ikere. Tell them we fear no one because we believe in God. We will not start any fight but we are not scared of fighting.”

Fayemi said that his administration had succeeded in linking every part of the state with good roads saying he valued the senior citizens and that was why he introduced social security scheme to take care of them.

He warned the electorate not to allow “politicians who misused power, promoted violence, brigandage, looting, impunity and maltreatment of traditional rulers and elders to come back to power.”

Meanwhile, the Ekiti State Police Command and Kayode Fayemi Campaign Organisation have disagreed on the alleged shooting of a supporter of APC, Babatunde Fatoye, by some thugs believed to be part of the crowd which heralded the entry of former Governor Ayo Fayose into Ado Ekiti.

The Director General of Fayemi Campaign Organisation, Mr. Bimbo Daramola, had said at a news conference on Thursday that Fatoye was shot in the arm at Adebayo area of Ado Ekiti by suspected thugs in Fayose’s entourage. Although Fayose denied the allegation, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Victor Babayemi, in a statement on Friday said Fatoye was not shot as claimed. He said that he was injured by a broken glass.

But the spokesperson of the campaign organisation, Mr. Dimeji Daniels, insisted that the APC supporter was shot.
