Aminu Maigari, the immediate-past Board Chairman of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA), has been released by the Department of State Security (DSS), an official said on Wednesday in Abuja.
Former Nigerian Football Federation chairman, Aminu Maigari has finally regained his freedom after being jailed by the Department of State Security (DSS) earlier in the week.
The NFF revealed this through Ephraim Chukwuemeka, a member of the three-man Interim Committee set up by a faction of the NFA congress on Tuesday
Chukwuemeka revealed that Maigari regained his freedom Wednessday morning, a day after the NFF election for a new Chairman was conducted.
Maigari was arrested with Green but were not charged and where just removed so they won’t attend the general assembly of Tuesday, which FIFA demanded be presided by Maigari.”” said an aide of the NFF boss.
It would be recalled that the NFF has been embroiled with crisis lately over the presidency of the body. The incumbent president, Aminu Maigari, has been removed and reinstated over charges of misconduct levied against him by some members of NFF executive committee.
