Obasanjo Embraces Atiku In Unexpected Meeting At Minna Airport

OBASANJO-ATIKU1Former President Olusegun Obasanjo and his erstwhile deputy, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, demonstrated Tuesday that all was well between them when they met at Minna International Airport, Niger State, and hugged each other.

The ex-president was in Minna to visit former military President, Ibrahim Babangida, who just returned from a two-month long medical vacation in Germany, while Atiku was in the town to witness the public declaration ceremony of a fellow All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential aspirant, Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah.

Obasanjo, who arrived in an aircraft with registration number G DOUR alongside Senator Andy Uba, Chief Ayo Fasawe, and an unidentified lady at about 5:30pm, was about to be conveyed out from the airport when his attention was drawn to the presence of Atiku.

The former vice president, who was already seated awaiting clearance for his flight to take-off, had to stop the pilot, alighted and headed straight to his former boss’ car to pay homage.

The two leaders hugged each other after some minutes of banter.

Obasanjo, thereafter, was driven to the uphill residence of Gen. Babangida in company of the former military president’s eldest son, Mohammed.
