Stuttgart Coach Resigns After 12 Bundesliga Matches

VFB Stuttgart coach Armin Veh has stepped down as coach of the German Bundesliga outfit.

Veh’s resignation announcement comes one day after the former champions were beaten 1-0 by Augsburg at home, a result which left the club bottom of the league standings.

“It was a difficult step to take because the club and team are close to my heart but I was convinced it was the right one,” Veh said in a club statement.

“The team is better than the position in the table but nine points from 12 games are too few.”

The 53-year-old left Eintracht Frankfurt at the end of last season to return to the club which he helped clinch the Bundesliga title in 2007.

The home defeat by Augsburg completes a run of three straight losses without scoring a goal under Veh.
