national assembly

President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari has restated his indifference to whoever emerges as senate president or speaker of the House of Representatives in the 8th National Assembly. He expressed readiness to work with anyone chosen regardless of their backgrounds.

According to a statement released in Abuja by Buhari’s Head of Media, the second statement was released to clear the air as some people kept linking him with some candidates.

Buhari had said in an earlier statement that he was “prepared to work with any leaders that the House or Senate selects”.

“It doesn’t matter who the person is or where he or she is from.”

According to him, “there is due process for the selection of leaders of the National Assembly and I will not interfere in that process. Nigeria has indeed entered a new dispensation. My administration does not intend to repeat the same mistakes made by previous governments.”
