Pastor Biodun Reacts To A Man Who Blasted Him For His Yacht Party (PHOTO)

The news that Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of COZA, Abuja, had a flamboyant all-white yacht birthday celebration in Dubai, generated a lot of heated arguments and criticisms online last month.

The pastor had now stepped up to give a comprehensive reason as to why the birthday took place in Dubai. He was forced to do this after he shared a story on his Facebook page and a man accused him of not practicing what he was trying to preach about.

Here is the post that stimulated the convo: ” I found an interesting story this morning, and I thought to share with you; A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life.

Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups – porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite, telling them to help themselves to hot coffee.

When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said: “If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving the plain and cheap ones behind. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress.

What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups and were eyeing each other’s cups. Now if life is coffee, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, but the quality of Life doesn’t change.

Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee in it.”

Family, “HE CAME THAT WE MIGHT HAVE LIFE”. Don’t be consumed by circumstances or situations around you, Focus on enjoying the “LIFE” Jesus has freely made available to you. Did you learn anything from this? Share with me.”

  1. I dont know how to answer this especially because he is a Pastor. The truth is that, a man of God, in a country such as this, could have done better by doing this birthday with the poor. There are soo many poorer ministries around and we are supposed to be on the same side. This attitude is unacceptable from a man of God. This is while christianity has not grown as it should have. We all are meant to be helping others or so the Bible says.

    • Elegunde Samuel you amuse me alot. My first thought is who asked you to provide an answer? Moreso, I don’t see anything bad with what his church members did. I have been following the activities of this church and I see that do so much for the community. I remember family members who benefited from a program they did, shop for free. They got so much things for free fiven by the church and the members. And they tell me how much the pastor and the church reach out to widows and orpphans in their community.
I wish Pastor Biodun and the COZA family all the best with the new church. To Christians please lets not talk of what we don’t understand. That’s foolishness.

  2. @samuel, I really don’t understand your argument.
When you had your last birthday, did you have it with the poor people on your streets or in your village? How many of the poor people in your streets did you invite? Talk is cheap.

We expect things from people that we couldn’t do ourselves. He is a pastor so he should die because people are poor? Have you thought about the possibility that people celebrated his birthday for him that he didn’t spend his money?
If you serve people with your life and they decide to celebrate you in return, are you telling me that you would ask them to bring the money so you can distribute it to the poor? really?
Can any one man alleviate poverty? Was this man not poor at some point in his life?

These are the same poor people who when they come to church, instead of listening to the word that’ll change their lives, they will not listen, they prefer to beg and you expect the life of the pastor to stop because of such people?
Please I will suggest, you follow this man on his page and learn! And stop this hypocrisy

  3. It’s disgusting when out of jealousy and envy so called Christians criticise others for being lavish. Love others as you love yourself not less than you love yourself Mr Sam. Being a Pastor is not a call into a life of sorrow. God is not poor and He certainly is not cheap. The most lavish person I know is the Almighty God. He is the owner of the gold and silver and He does not entertain cheap. He is very classy and posh and He wants His children to enjoy the gold and the diamonds He made for them. As a multimillionaire, after disposing my wealth to the poor, would it be wrong if I went on and lavished my wealth on myself. You’re just a cheap critic with a dose of foolishness in you if you don’t even understand the workings of wealth. Have you ever criticised the likes of wizkid for being lavish? Or you think Christianity and poverty go hand in hand abi? What a shame on your ignorance. Just make sure you celebrate your party always with the poor otherwise you’re just a cheap pretender. Throwing stones from your glass house.
