Kado Yahaya was appointed an interim chairman of the PDP three days before the ongoing congress by the two third of the state party executive council members against the suspended party chairman, Senator Hassan Muhammad Nasiha, who according to them was liable for the party’s failure in the 2015 general elections in the state.

Competent sources that did not want to be identified in print revealed that, the deceased slumped and died instantly when the collated votes were allegedly manipulated by the congress committee in favour of Senator Hassan Nasiha, the situation which turned the collation centre into free-for-all between members of the warring factions.

It was gathered that, the party has due to political interests split into four formidable camps allegedly led by the Senator Hassan Nasiha, former member House of Representatives, Bello Muhammad Mutawalle, former member House of Representatives, Ibrahim Shehu Bakauye and the former governor, Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi.

Before his untimely death, the interim chairman was said to be a loyalist to former Governor Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi and had eventually struggled to ensure free and fair elections for the party’s success in any general elections to come in the state.

Unconfirmed reports said, the late interim chairman of the party was not happy with a meeting held shortly after collation of results between the embattled suspended chairman, Senator Nasiha and the some members of the congress committee assigned by the PDP national headquarters to monitor the state.
“The interim chairman was shocked when he noticed some selfish changes on the results so far collated, it was as a result for him to make calls on the concerned authorities to intervene and save the situation that, he instantly slumped and died”, a source revealed.

Commenting on the incidence, the former National Officer of the PDP in charge of the North-West, Alhaji Farukh Ahmad (Shattiman Rijiya) said, the party must vow to ensure the cause of the death of the late interim chairman was investigated.
