Buhari Appoints Akabueze DG Budget Office

PMBPresident Muhammadu Buhari has appointed his Special Adviser on Planning, Ben Akabueze, as the new Director General of the Budget Office of the Federation.
Mr. Akabueze, the immediate past Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget in Lagos State, takes over from Tijani Mohammed Abdullahi, who will now serve as Special Adviser to the President on Planning and will continue to work with the Minister of Budget and National Planning.
The president in February 2016 appointed both Messrs. Akabueze and Abdullahi as SA on Planning and DG Budget Office respectively.
A statement on Thursday by presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina, announcing the redeployment, said it was part of an ongoing exercise aimed at further repositioning the ministry to effectively deliver on its core mandate.
