EFCC Releases Reuben Abati

Dr. Reuben Abati, the former Special Adviser to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan has been released by the Economic Financial and Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Mr. Abati who confirmed his release to journalists this morning said he was allowed to go by the EFCC at around 8pm on Friday evening.

According to him, his bail is been processed and the paperwork will be finalized on Monday.

Recall that Abati, reported himself to the anti-graft agency on October 21, after the commission declared him wanted for allegedly receiving N50m from the embattled former National Security Adviser, Col Sambo Dasuki.

According to reports, he(Abati) was said to have told the EFCC he can only repay N5m out of the alleged amount, a move that elongated his stay with the agency.
