A crash involving a tanker along AYA Expressway, Abuja has claimed seven lives including three female adults and four children.

Eleven others who were injured were rushed to Garki and Asokoro General hospitals for medical attention.

The dead victims were reportedly burnt to ashes during the accident which occurred around 2pm on Sunday.

The Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, Commander Bisi Kazeem, confirmed the incident, saying the tanker lost control and crashed, adding that the resultant explosion killed the victims.

He said, “Policemen, fire fighters, civil defence men together with our men from the CBD Command worked at the scene.

“The injured persons were taken to Garki and Asokoro General hospitals while the dead were taken to the mortuary.”
