Lagos State Government Directs Schools To Resume Monday

The Lagos State Government has directed all schools in the state to commence the 2022/2023 academic year on September 5, 2022.

This is according to a statement released on Saturday by Abiola Seriki-Ayeni, the director-general of the state’s office of education quality assurance.

It reported that Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo, the state’s commissioner for education, had approved this.

The statement partly read, ā€œAll schools below the tertiary level in Lagos State are mandated to resume for First Term on Monday, September 5, 2022, as stated in 2022/2023 Harmonised Academic Calendar as approved by the Honourable Commissioner for Education Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo.

ā€œThe academic calendar prioritizes standardized learning days and schools are to ensure strict compliance for the delivery of quality and sustainable education in Lagos State.

ā€œStudents and school-based staff are welcome back to school and are expected to adhere to health and safety protocols toward a productive school year,ā€ it added.

In addition, the statement mentioned that the academic calendar could be downloaded from the Lagos Education Quality Assurance website.
