Pogba’s Brother Charged, Detained In France For Extortion

Paul Pogba’s brother, Mathias Pogba, has been charged and detained for allegedly trying to extort money from the Juventus star.

Disclosing to French broadcaster BFMTV, Yassine Bouzrou, that the football star’s lawyer was innocent, Mathias Pogba’s lawyer, said, “We are going to challenge this decision.”

Mathias Pogba, 32, has confessed that he was behind a video that emerged online last month pledging “revelations” about the 29-year-old Juventus midfielder.

After the former Manchester United player Paul stated he was the target of extortion and threats from an organised gang, French prosecutors opened a judicial investigation earlier this month.

He laid the complaint with Turin prosecutors on 16 July, claiming he was the target of a 13m euro (£11.29m) blackmail plot.
