World Leaders Pay Tributes As Britain Mourns Passing Of Queen Elizabeth II

Tributes have been pouring in from prominent figures and world leaders over the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-reigning monarch in the history of the United Kingdom.

She passed away peacefully on Thursday afternoon at the age of 96 at Balmoral Castle, her estate in the Scottish Highlands, signaling the end of an era in the UK.

Glowing condolences were paid to her by world leaders who praised her after Buckingham Palace announced her passing.

With her death, the crown immediately becomes handed over to her son and heir Charles, who would be referred to as King Charles III.

Rock Upon Which Modern Britain Was Built – UK Prime Minister 

The UK Prime Minister Liz Truss, who was appointed by the Queen on Tuesday, described her as “the rock upon which modern Britain was built.’’

“Today, the Crown passes, as it has done for more than a thousand years, to our new monarch, our new head of state, His Majesty King Charles III. With the King’s family we mourn the loss of his mother and come together. We offer him our loyalty and devotion, just as his mother devoted so much to us for so long,’’ she stated.

More Than a Monarch – US President and First Lady

The United States President, Joe Biden and first lady, Jill Biden, in a statement, stated that Elizabeth was more than a monarch.

The American first family described the late monarch as a steadying presence and a source of comfort for many Britons.

The American first family said, “Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was more than a monarch. She defined an era. In a world of constant change, she was a steadying presence and a source of comfort and pride for generations of Britons, including many who have never known their country without her.

“An enduring admiration for Queen Elizabeth II united people across the Commonwealth. The seven decades of her history-making reign bore witness to an age of unprecedented human advancement and the forward march of human dignity.”

They continued: “In the years ahead, we look forward to continuing a close friendship with The King and The Queen Consort. Today, the thoughts and prayers of people all across the United States are with the people of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth in their grief.”

A Kind-Hearted Queen Says Emmanuel Macron

French President, Emmanuel Macron described the late monarch as kind-hearted Queen.

He tweeted, “Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II embodied the British nation’s continuity and unity for over 70 years. I remember her as a friend of France, a kind-hearted queen who has left a lasting impression on her country and her century.”

Donald Trump Pays Tribute

Former US President, Donald Trump, said he would cherish his time together with the Queen, recalling her generosity and sense of humour.

“Melania and I will always cherish our time together with the Queen, and never forget Her Majesty’s generous friendship, great wisdom, and wonderful sense of humour. What a grand and beautiful lady she was —there was nobody like her,” Trump said in a social media post.

Pope Francis Mourns Death of Monarch 

Pope Francis sent his condolences to King Charles III and the people of the United Kingdom for the death of Queen Elizabeth II, and praises her “life of unstinting service to the good of the Nation and the Commonwealth”.

The Pope said he joins everyone who mourns her loss “in praying for the late Queen’s eternal rest, and in paying tribute to her life of unstinting service to the good of the Nation and the Commonwealth, her example of devotion to duty, her steadfast witness of faith in Jesus Christ and her firm hope in his promises.”

Pope Francis also commended “her noble soul” to the mercy of God the Father.

Queen Earned Authority on The World Stage Says Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin also offered his condolences to King Charles III following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, wishing the new monarch “courage and resilience” after his mother’s passing.

“The most important events of the United Kingdom’s recent history are inextricably bound with the name of Her Majesty. For many decades Elizabeth II rightfully enjoyed her subjects’ love and respect as well as authority on the world stage,” Putin said, according to a Kremlin statement.
