SHOCKING DISGUISE: Shot Police Officer Admits He Belongs To Ombatse Cult Group

The police officer shot hot by soldier in Akwanga local government area of Nasarawa state, has confirmed he was a member if the Ombatse cult group.

The officer was questioned by the state police boss in Government House, but kept mute when asked the whereabouts of his rifle.

“I am sorry sir,” he told the police commissioner, Umar Shehu.

It was discovered, that the officer had charms underneath his uniform. He was one of the three others brought to Government House by the army in a Hilux van.

He dripped of blood following the gunshots he suffered when the Army engaged the Ombatse cult in a shootout. He could not answer questions regarding why he left his duty post for the trouble spot.

A teenager of the Eggon tribe and an indigene of Doma, who was among the militia shot by the soldiers, told the police commissioner that the rifle found on him was provided by the mobile police officer. One of the officers told PremiumTimes that the boys went and re-group in their hundreds and came through the bush to attack them when some of their members where arrested at a check a point which prompted them to act in self defense.

Governor Al-Makura promised to address the state after receiving briefings from the state security chiefs. He commended the security operatives for handling the situations while urging the people of the state to leave in peace and harmony with one another.

It will be recalled that a communal clash between the Ombatse and Alago tribes of Nasarawa state began on Friday and continued on Saturday. The crisis started with the resistance by Ombatse militia to the arrest of their member caught with weapons through a tip off by Alago youths, and has consumed the entire town of Assakio in Lafia east and part of Obi local government area.
