Why EFCC Cannot Probe Aviation Minister’s N255m Armoured Vehicles Allegation – Gbajabiamila

Stella-OduahThe Minority Leader in the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has described the N255 million spent on special purpose vehicles purportedly for the use of the Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah-Ogiemwonyi, as a ‘national embarrassment’.

He, however, warned that in the midst of cries for the minister’s head over the allegation, her fundamental right to fair hearing must be respected by all.

The spokesman for the minister, Mr. Joel Obi had on Wednesday confirmed a report by SaharaReporters that the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, paid for two armored vehicles worth $1.6 million (N255m) following threats to Mrs. Oduah-Ogiemwonyi’s life by unnamed vested interests, who felt they had been dislocated from the aviation sector by the minister’s reform policies.

But Gbajabiamila said, “It’s a national embarrassment. Unfortunately, the EFCC cannot look into it as demanded by most Nigerians because now we hear the EFCC is broke. Cry my beloved country.”
