Tai Solarin College of Education, TASCE, Omu Ijebu, Ogun State has threatened to drag the management of Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ijebu Ode to court for allegedly usurping and confiscating their assets.

Founded in 1978, TASCE, a National Certificate of Education, NCE awarding institution was elevated as Tai Solarin University of Education, TASUED, in March 2005 by the immediate past governor of the state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel who ordered its relocation to Omu.

Chairman of Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union, COEASU, Omu Ijebu, Mr. Dan Oludipe told newsmen yesterday that “TASUED cannot continue to use the name ‘Tai Solarin,’ since the TASUED’s foundation, TASCE, had been been removed in October 2008.

“If we are not answered by them, we have to go to court. We have enough evidence to show that Tai Solarin College of Education owns Ijagun. The government came up with another thing and they called it TASUED without repealing the one, TASCE,  transformed to university,” Oludipe said.
