Nigeria have proposed a World Cup warm-up match against Portugal, officials have disclosed.
Chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) technical committee Barrister Chris Green says the international friendly will hold if Portugal fancy the African champions’ arrangement.
“We are considering playing a friendly with Portugal, they play like Argentina and Bosnia-Herzegovina,” Green told Brila FM.
“But for the friendly to come to life, Portugal have to accept and be interested.”
The Super Eagles are scheduled to play the El Tricolor of Mexico on March 5 and another warm-up against Croatia is well on the card.
Nigeria have been pitted against Argentina, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Iran in Group F of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Both Portugal and Nigeria have gone for Campinas as their team base during the next summer showpiece.
