Kidnapped Lawmaker Released, Beaten To Coma

Barely 24 hours after the Ebonyi State House majority leader, Hon Sam Nwali, was kidnapped by unknown gunmen at his residence along Watchman street in Abakaliki, he has regained freedom, but in poor condition.

The Ebonyi State member, representing Ikwo North State Constituency, who is believed to be a strong supporter of the new Speaker-elect, Hon. Helen Nwobasi, was beaten to a coma before being released yesterday afternoon by his abductors, according to LEADERSHIP.

Although he has been receiving medical treatments since then, all the efforts of newsmen to speak with him proved abortive, as journalists were barred from having any close contact with the just-released beaten politician.

The politician’s colleagues, like the new Speaker, the Ebonyi State Governor Chief Martin Elechi, Hon Frank Onwe, who is the lawmaker for Ohaukwu North State Constituency, were, however, seen trooping into the State Security Service office to speak with their released colleague.
