PDP’ll Sweep North-West Votes In 2015 – Metuh

Olisa_MetuhThe national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party has described the party’s victory in the Katsina State local government polls as an affirmation that it is on the ground in the North-West and will clear the votes in the zone come 2015.

PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, who stated this in a statement on Sunday, also described the victory as a reflection of the party’s popularity and acceptance by Nigerians in all the nooks and crannies of the country.

Metuh said its overwhelming electoral victories earlier in Kaduna and now in Katsina, indicated that the PDP was on the ground in the zone and “will sweep the votes not only in the North-West but also in the entire northern region in the 2015 general election”.

He, on behalf of the national leadership of the party, congratulated Governor Ibrahim Shema of Katsina State as well as leaders and members of the PDP in the state for the successful outing.

He attributed the success the party recorded to the “sterling performance of the PDP-led administration in the state which is in line with the PDP ideology and President Goodluck Jonathan’s Transformation Agenda”.

Thanking the people of the state for their support expressed in the free and fair elections, Metuh urged the newly elected council officials to reciprocate by “working hard to ensure that their people not only continue to enjoy the benefit of having the PDP in power but also vote for it in the general elections”.

On the part of the national leadership of the party, Metuh gave the assurance that the party would continue to guarantee strict adherence to the principles of internal democracy and provide level playing ground for all Nigerians to canvass and pursue their aspirations within the ambit of the overall national interest.
