Barca’s Rafinha out with Muscle Injury

Barcelona midfielder Rafinha is set for a spell on the sideline with a thigh muscle injury.

The 21-year-old Brazilian returned from China this week where he was part of his country’s Olympic team with the complication.

“Tests performed by FC Barcelona’s medical services have revealed that Rafinha has a slight elongation of the sartorius muscle in his right thigh,” a statement on the club’s website read.

“His availability for upcoming training sessions will depend on his recovery. Rafinha recently went to China to play for the Brazilian Olympic team, but he had to return to Barcelona after experiencing issues related to this injury.”

Rafinha played the full 90 minutes of last weekend’s 2-1 victory over Almeria.
