Podolski On Lack of Playing Time at Arsenal- “I’m Not a Fool”

Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski has once again spoken on his frustration at having to sit on the bench for quite too long, as Arsenal endure a disappointing Premier League start.

The Germany international was an unused substitute for the ‘Gunners’ in last Saturday’s 2-1 home loss to Manchester United.

The 29-year-old has started just a league game so far this season, with Arsene Wenger’s side witnessing their worst start in 32 years.

“I like London, I like the club, butu I don’t like the situation,” he told German magazine Kicker. “I’m not some clown who can sit out his contract in the stands.”

Arsenal are already 15 points behind league leaders Chelsea and are eighth on the standings after just three wins.

The former Bayern Munich man wants talks with Wenger over his future at the Emirates Stadium.

“I have to try to talk with Arsene Wenger,” he said. “I want a fair chance.

And with Olivier Giroud back from injury earlier than expected and, even scoring on his return over the weekend; Podolski’s first-team chances might have shrunk further. He has refused to rule out a move away from north London in the winter.
