Jonathan To Host Special Edition Of Presidential Media Chat Wednesday – Presidency

MEDIA CHATPresident Goodluck Jonathan will on Wednesday host what the Presidency termed a special edition of presidential media chat.

Presidential spokesman, Dr. Reuben Abati, in a statement on Tuesday said Jonathan will, during the programme, respond to questions on topical national issues.

The statement read, “President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will host a special edition of the Presidential Media Chat tomorrow, Wednesday, February 11, 2015.

“During the programme, which will be broadcasted live on the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria and the Voice of Nigeria from 7pm. President Jonathan will respond to questions from a panel of journalists on current national issues.

“All other television and radio stations in the country may hook-up to NTA and FRCN to relay the programme to their viewers and listeners”.

GEJ has liberated the press and guaranteed the freedom of speech in this country where the stifling of the press and suppression of the citizens’ right to freedom of speech used to be the norm, a legacy of over 30 years of military rule. The existence of vocal anti-government media houses and critics would have culminated in some high-profile assassinations some years back, but today citizens are free to air their views whenever and wherever they like just like any other sane country…….GEJ all the way
