12-Year-Old Female Suicide Bomber Kills 10 In Yobe

A fresh suicide bombing perpetrated by a girl believed to be about 12 years old has led to the death of 10 people in Gujba local government area of Yobe State.
The incident which happened around 11am, at the Kasuwan Hatse grain market in the Wagir Market is the latest in a series of attacks that followed President Muhammadu Buhari’s inauguration on May 29. The girl reportedly detonated the bomb in the mist of people at the market, according to a correspondent of The Nation a Nigerian newspaper.
The attack blamed on Islamist sect Boko Haram occurred on Tuesday and resulted in the death of 10 people, leaving 30 others injured.
“It was a suicide attack by a girl of around 12 years,” BBC quoted witness Hussaini Aisami to have said.

“She went into the market and headed straight to the grain section. She detonated her explosives in the middle of traders and customers.”

Some of the injured are presently receiving treatment at the Sani Abacha Hospital.
