El-Rufai was recognized for his achievements despite just spending one month in office. Meanwhile, governors of Kano and Sokoto States, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, occupied the second position and third positions respectively.

The CGPI is a monthly performance review of governors performance across the country, conducted by the Centre for International Advanced and Professional Studies.

The official name of the award is “CIAPS Governors Performance Index (CGPI) award.”

The CGPI coordinator, Mr Olumuyiwa Ayoola, speaking yesterday said the variables used to calculate the award are mathematically calculated

He named some of them as “Readiness for Office, Innovation in Office, Ability to be in tune with mood of the nation and Security and Leadership by example”.

Just yesterday, El Rufai has appointed Hadiza Bala Usman, the daughter of a former secretary to the state government as his new chief of staff.

Ms Usman was the All Progressives Congress (APC) administrative secretary of the Buhari Presidential Campaign Organization, Member Secretary APC elections planning committee, member APC strategy committee, director of finance in the Nasir El-Rufai campaign organization and later the Kaduna State APC campaign council.
