No One Will Be Above The Law Under Buhari Govt – Osinabjo To NURTW Leaders

Yemi OsinbajoVice-President Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday told the leadership of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, that nobody would be treated as a sacred cow by the present administration.

According to a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr. Laolu Akande, the Vice-President spoke while granting audience to the leadership of the union at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Osinbajo told his guests that ensuring that no one is above the law is the first rule of any developed country.

He said there was no reason why Nigeria also should not be well run like such countries.

He added, “Good economies are run by men, not spirits. Men and women like you and I, flesh and blood. There is no reason why our country cannot be well run. The key is the rule of law.

“We insist that the rule of the law be maintained, that no one is above the law. Nobody is above the law; it is the first rule. The President has committed himself to this. He said it yesterday again in the US, that nobody is above the law.

“If somebody is held according to law, we must support that. Let us support what is good and right for the country”.
