Nigerian football officials have reportedly proposed a friendly against Ghana in London for next month.
AfricanFootball.com has been told that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) wants the international friendly to be slated for September’s Fifa-free week, in the wake of a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier in Tanzania on the weekend of September 4-6.
Nigeria had arranged to play the Black Stars earlier this year, but that match did not see the light of the day because it was against a new Fifa rule, which says a team could not play international friendlies within three days in two confederations.
“Discussions are on-going and we will just have to wait and see if this comes through,” the top source is quoted as saying by AfricanFootball.com.
Nigeria and Ghana played out a goalless draw in their most recent friendly game in London in 2012.
