Gunmen Raid Somali Hotel

Somali police have reported that gunmen have stormed a hotel in Mogadishu and have taken an unknown number of hotel guests hostage.

At least 15 people are have been reported dead and 25 others are injured as a result of a car bombing and gun attack at the hotel.

The attackers are said to have set up snipers on the hotel rooftop and throwing grenades.

Islamic extremist group al-Shabab has claimed responsibility.

This has been the latest in a series of hotel assaults in Mogadishu.
