Wike, Amaechi Reconcile In Rivers State

In a bid to bring peace to Rivers State ahead of the senatorial/House of Representative rerun elections, a crucial meeting was organized between the Acting Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, the Director-General of Department of State Services, DSS, Alhaji Musa Daura and the two major stakeholders of politics in the state, Governor Nyesom Wike and the Minister of Transportation, Mr Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.

The highlight of the meeting was peace would reign in the state that has recently been characterized by unrests and the overall need to have peaceful, free and fair and violence-free election which was the trademark of previous elections in the state.

The minister and his successor, Gov Wike resolved to be irrevocably committed to lasting peace and vouched to play the game by the rules as they also agreed to prevail on their teaming supporters to adhere to their commitment to peace and security in the state.

The duo in addition agreed to meet again in Port Harcourt, which is aimed at solidifying the agreement to commit to peace reached in the meeting.
